Synthroid can be used for suppressing or treating different kinds of goiters.
How Taken
Synthroid should be taken only as prescribed by the doctor. You have to take the drug an hour earlier before taking meal on empty stomach or two to three hours after the meal. You get a better result if taken at the same time every day. Synthroid has to be taken for a lifetime unless it is taken on a trial basis or taken for low thyroid activity linked with thyroid inflammation. If patients and children have the difficulty in swallowing the drug, it can be crushed and mixed with one or two spoons of water. It is better not to store the drug for longer periods. It is also not good to mix tablets in soybean infant formula.
Missed Dose
If you have forgotten to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Well, if it is time for the next dosage, it is better to skip the missed one and continue with the usual dosage. Do not take a double dosage.
