Neurontin

Drug Uses
Neurontin drug is used for treating seizures linked with epilepsy. It is also used against nerve pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia. The drug is also used against nerve pains caused by herpes zoster (shingles).

How Taken
You have to take the drug only according to the doctor’s direction. You can take Neurontin with or without food. You should not take antacid that contains aluminum and magnesium two hours ahead of taking Neurontin. You should only stop taking the drug after consulting the doctor and if you stop it suddenly, there is an increased risk of side effects.

Missed Dose
If you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Skip the missed dose if it is time for the next dose. Do not mix the two dosages.

More Information
Neurontin may cause dizziness, drowsiness and blurred vision. If  taken with alcohol or other medications, it can be worse. Better not drive after taking the drug.
