Naprosyn is an effective medicine prescribed for treating pain or inflammation caused by arthritis, spondylitis, ankylosing tendinitis, gout, menstrual cramps and bursitis.
Naprosyn nelongs to a group of medicines known as Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). The drug acts on the hormones that cause the pain, thus giving relief.

Naprosyn is FDA pregnancy category C, which means that the drug can cause harm to the fetus. Pregnant women and those who aspire to get pregnant should have to take the drug only after talking with the doctor. In any case, Naprosyn is not prescribed during the last 3 months of pregnancy as it can cause birth defects. As the drug is traced in breast milk, breast-feeding women should not take the drug during feeding or they have to stop feeding. The medicine is not prescribed to children younger than 2 years old.
When you are taking Naprosyn, you should not consume Alcohol as it increases the risk of stomach bleeding. The drug may also cause your skin sensitive to the sun. So when going out, wear some protective clothing and use some screen lotions or creams.
You should also be careful of the serious side effects that come with Naprosyn. The serious side effects include; chest pain, slurred speech, shortness of breath, vision or balance problems, bloody stools, coughing up blood, swelling, fast weight gain, less urinating, nausea, appetite loss, stomach pain, bruising, numbness and muscle weakness. The lesser-known side effects include dizziness, headache and itching.
