Keflex
Keflex is considered to be an effective drug for treating infections caused by the bacteria.
The drug can be taken with food and also in empty stomach. Always follow your doctor’s prescription. You may get relief from the infection within a few days of the medication but never think that you have been completely relieved of the infection. Better not stop the drug in the middle of a course and if you discontinue, the chances of the infection to come back are more.
Before the doctor prescribes Keflex, tell him about all your health conditions so that he could take a right decision on the prescription. You have to inform him if you are allergic to any particular medicine, food or substance, including the ingredients of keflex, penicillin or beta–lactam antibiotics. Do not hide from your doctor if you have diseases related to the kidney or liver, blood clotting problems and heart problems.
You should also inform your doctor about all the medications as certain medicines are known to interact with Keflex. As the drug is also known to decrease the clotting ability, you should avoid bruises and bleeding while taking the drug. If the drug is taken for a long period, there are chances of a second attack of the infection. Well, if you come across any signs of a second infection, immediately contact your doctor.
Pregnant women and breast feeding women should have to take Keflex with caution as the drug can cause harm to the unborn and the newborn babe.
