An angiotensin, Cozaar blocks the narrowing of blood vessels, which helps in the steady flow of blood.

Cozaar has to be taken as per your doctor’s direction. You have to complete the whole course for better results. Take the right doses at the right time. If you miss any dosage, take the missed one as you remember it. However, you should not take the missed dose if it is time for your scheduled dose. Never mix the two doses as it can only increase the risk of side effects.

When consulting the doctor, you have to inform him about all your health history so that he will be able to take a wise decision on prescribing Cozaar for you. If you are allergic to losartan, the drug is not prescribed. You should also inform the doctor if you are dehydrated or having congestive heart failure and kidney/liver problems.

Pregnant women should avoid Cozaar as the drug is harmful to the unborn babe. While you are on Cozaar medication, it is better not to get pregnant. Breast-feeding mothers should also avoid the drug as it is traced in breast milk.

You should not consume alcohol or take potassium supplements and salt substitutes while you are on Cozaar medication.

While taking the drug, you may come across allergic reactions like rashes and swelling. You may also experience muscle pain, vomiting, nausea and dark coloured urine. If you come across these symptoms, stop the drug and contact the doctor.
