Avodart
Avodart is an effective medicine prescribed for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) in males with an enlarged prostate.
The drug prevents the conversion of testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which causes Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
Avodart can be taken with meals or without food. Take care only to swallow the drug, as the medicine has to enter the body slowly. Breaking, chewing or cruising the drug can lead to the release of the drug fast and it can also cause irritation to the lips, mouth and throat
Once your doctor has prescribed Avodart, you should have to complete the medication. Do not discontinue if you do not see any improvement in the first few weeks. It may take about 6 months for your symptoms to improve. If the drug is stopped midway, there is an increase chance of the side effects.
You should also be careful not to miss any doses. But if by any chance a dose is missed, it can be taken before the next scheduled dosage. However, do no go for the missed dose if it is almost time for your regular medication. Mixing two doses is also not healthy.
Well, you have to discuss with you doctor about all your health conditions before he administers Avodat. The drug is only for men and women and children should not handle it. Pregnant women should be more careful not to come in contact with the broken or crushed drug, as it is known to be absorbed through the skin.
